Ron Berry

Head Coach

Coach
Berry is in his 40th season in coaching Girls Basketball. He has led 20
teams from 7 schools into the playoffs over his career. He has had 15 teams
make it to the regional quarterfinals, 12 teams to the regional semi-finals and
7 teams to the regional finals. His teams have been recognized for playing
up-tempo and pressure defense style of play.He has had the opportunity to have
many of his former players play in the college ranks. He graduated from
Tarleton State University with a B.S. in Physical Education and History. In his
career he has had the opportunity to work and learn from some of the greats of
the game, such as John Wooden, Pat Summit and Gary Blair. He and his wife
Rulene, who also is a MHS educator, have two grown daughters and five
grandchildren.

Eddie DeLucas
Asst. Coach |
Coach DeLucas lived
and grew up in a small rural town called Lenorah Texas, where he studied and
played basketball and football at Grady High School. After graduating from
Grady he went to study at Midland College where he earned an Associates Degree
of Science in Mathematics. He continued his studies at the University of Texas
of the Permian Basin where he double majored in Mathematics and Spanish,
earning a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Arts. This is his seventh year
at Midland Senior High School. Coach DeLucas has been coaching basketball for 5
years. Previously he was on the Midland High boys coaching staff where he
coached the Sophomore and Junior Varsity basketball teams and is currently our
Varsity Assistant. |

Gary Luft

Junior Varsity |
Coach Luft is in fifth year at
Midland High. He served for one year as head girls basketball coach in Ft.
Stockton, and was an assistant boys coach at Midland Lee for nine years. A
graduate of Washington State University, Coach Luft also holds a M.S. and Ph.D.
in Human Sciences from Texas Tech University. He has taught at Truman State
University in Kirksville, MO and The University of Akron as well as Roscoe High
School. Gary is married to Sue. They have two sons; Garrett, who teaches and
coaches in Lubbock and Chase who is a graduate student at Texas Tech. Coach
Luft has three grandchildren 5, 4, and 2. |

Bryan Sledge

Asst. Coach |
Bryan Sledge, grew up and
graduated from Coahoma High School. He graduated from the University of Texas
of the Permian Basin in 2002. Coach Sledge has taught and coached at San
Jacinto Junior High School, Midland Freshman, and is now in his seventh year at
Midland High School. He is also the Midland High Football receivers coach.
Coach Sledge enjoys playing golf and spending time with his family and dogs. He
and his wife, Erica, have two daughters Alyssa and Suri. |

Jaclynn West
Freshman Coach |
Jaclynn West is in her first
season as Freshman Basketball coach with the Lady Dawgs. Originally from
Bourbonnais, Illinois, she graduated from Eastern Illinois University, with a
bachelors degree in social science teaching in 2010. After graduating,
she came to Midland, Texas to take on a social studies position at Midland
Freshman, where she currently teaches geography. |

Hondo Schneider

Trainer |
Hondo Schneider graduated from
Texas Tech University with Bachelors and Masters degrees in Sports Medicine. He
has served as athletic trainer for the San Francisco 49ers, the USFL Houston
Gamblers, Howard Payne University, Copperas Cove High School and Midland Lee
High School. This is Hondos second stint at MHS. Hondo serves on the UIL
Medical Advisory Committee. His brides name is Marla. They have two
children a daughter Jessica, 20, attending Texas Tech University, and a
son Brandt, 11. |
Jeff Pulley
Trainer |
Jeff graduated from Angelo State
University with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. He is a MHS graduate and
is very excited about becoming a part of the staff at MHS. Jeff has served as
an athletic trainer and strength and conditioning specialist for San Angelo
Saints Hockey, San Angelo Stampede Indoor Football, and for area high schools
around San Angelo. He has also served as a strength and conditioning specialist
for Angelo State Women's basketball and soccer programs through Shannon
Hospital. His wife's name is Christy and they have three daughters Kenzie, 9,
Peighton, 5, and McKyna, 6 months. |
