T.C. Willis

Head Coach
|
Coach Willis is
in his fourth year as head coach of the Lady Dawgs. He has led the team to the
playoffs for the last three years and he was the "District Coach of the
Year" for the last two years! He graduated from Sul Ross State University
with a B.S. in Environmental Science. Coach Willis is no stranger to Midland
High, coming from the boys' program as the head Junior Varsity coach. During
his short career, he has had the opportunity to work under some great coaches
and mentors. For five seasons he worked at Monahans High School, three of which
were under the direction of John Curry. The last two seasons at Monahans were
spent as the head coach of the boys program. Coach Willis' hobbies include
fishing, hunting and spending time with his family. He and his wife, Sarah have
two daughters, Madison and Olivia, who can be seen at every game roaming the
stands behind the player's bench. |

Terri Aston

Asst. Coach |
Currently in her
third year at MHS, Coach Aston is a 2002 graduate of Abilene High School where
she played three years of Varsity Basketball. She earned a Bachelors
Degree in Education from McMurry University in 2006. Coach Aston has two years
of coaching experience. One year at Goddard Junior High and the second year at
Midland High School. She and her husband, Mitch, have been married for six
years and their first child Kinley Bryun was born on October 29th, 2009.

Gary Luft

Junior Varsity |
Coach Luft begins his second
year at Midland High after a year as head girls basketball coach in Ft.
Stockton. He spent nine years as an assistant boys coach at Midland Lee before
coming to Midland High as varsity girls assistant two years ago. A graduate of
Washington State University, Coach Luft also holds a M.S. and Ph.D. in Human
Sciences from Texas Tech University. He has taught at Truman State University
in Kirksville, Mo. and The University of Akron as well as Roscoe High School.
Gary is married to Sue and they have two sons. Garrett [who will face his dad
in district play] teaches and coaches in Lubbock. Chase is a graduate student
at Texas Tech. Coach Luft has three grandchildren, Annie 3, Hudson, 2, and
Hayden, 3 months old. |

Bryan Sledge

Asst. Coach |
Bryan Sledge grew up and
graduated from Coahoma High School. He played football in high school and
continued his career at San Angelo State University playing as quarterback and
punter. He graduated from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin in 2002.
He has taught and coached at San Jacinto Junior High School, Midland Freshman
and is now in his fourth year at Midland High |

Eric Simonds
Freshmen |
Coach Simmonds
is in his first year as head coach of the MHS girl's Freshmen Team. He is a
2003 graduate of Kermit High where he was a three year starter for the Yellow
Jacket basketball program. Coach Simmonds earned All District honors all three
years and was selected to Texas Basketball Magazine's All-State team in 2003.
He was also selected to play for the Texas Junior National team which finished
3rd in the National Tournament in Columbus, Ohio. Coach Simmonds continued his
love for the game at McMurry University and finished his career at The
University of the Permian Basin where he earned his B.A. in English |

Hondo Schneider

Trainer |
Hondo Schneider graduated from
Texas Tech University with Bachelors and Masters degrees in Sports Medicine. He
has served as athletic trainer for the San Francisco 49ers, the USFL Houston
Gamblers, Howard Payne University, Copperas Cove High School and Midland Lee
High School. This is Hondos second stint at MHS. Hondo serves on the UIL
Medical Advisory Committee. His brides name is Marla. They have two
children a daughter Jessica, 20, attending Texas Tech University, and a
son Brandt, 11. |
Jeff Pulley
Trainer |
Jeff graduated from Angelo State
University with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. He is a MHS graduate and
is very excited about becoming a part of the staff at MHS. Jeff has served as
an athletic trainer and strength and conditioning specialist for San Angelo
Saints Hockey, San Angelo Stampede Indoor Football, and for area high schools
around San Angelo. He has also served as a strength and conditioning specialist
for Angelo State Women's basketball and soccer programs through Shannon
Hospital. His wife's name is Christy and they have three daughters Kenzie, 9,
Peighton, 5, and McKyna, 6 months. |
